An Inclusive Europe: Stronger Together
Leargas, Dublin Castle Conference Centre, December 2019
As political and socio-economic shifts in Europe and the wider world
create a climate of unpredictability, it has become more important
than ever to counter marginalisation and exclusion. We believe that
European values and the programmes we manage have a part to play
in building a more inclusive Europe, where we are truly stronger together.
This was the main subject of the Leargas Conference in Dublin.
During this conference the Aloysius Stichting showed the Erasmus project SUSTEIN.
A digital lifelong eportfolio for students/young adults in a vulnerable position.
Work experiences, progress and personal development can be secured and updated for life so that the students create a chance to better participate at the labor market or enter a vocational education.
The system is already used by schools in The Netherlands and Germany. At this moment portfolios are developed for schools in France, Italy and Lithuania. Besides that we are constantly searching for improvement together with students and employers. The presence in Ireland was a nice chance to broaden the portfolio in other European countries.
